Still kickin'

Each day that passes, I feel like we are crossing a hurdle. I stopped the PIO injections last week and started the progesterone suppositories. One word...YUCK! The shots are way easier :)

Anyway, they said I would probably spot...well, hearing that and seeing it are two VERY DIFFERENT things. Sunday morning I woke up spotting and totally wigged out.

I went in today and the little peanut is growing strong. We heard the heartbeat, I felt bad, R couldn't get home from work in time to go, so my sister went with me. Poor guy, he missed it. It was pretty surreal.

So, now we have 5 pictures of our little peanut and we go back next Wednesday. I think after that appointment, they send me on my way. WHAT??? That kinda freaks me out!

I haven't been posting much just for lack of anything really thought provoking to say. Not to worry - I am keeping up with you and praying.

When I was about 7 weeks, I did more than spotted. I GUSHED blood, but only momentarily and then it stopped (it was after sexy time). I was told IVF patients, for whatever reason, are more prone to this. You're right. Being told this and experiencing it are 2 very different things. I am so glad the little one is going strong!

Can't wait to hear about the day when things are ACTUALLY kicking...which should be only a few months away!

I hear ya on the progesterone. I started them at 12w and will be taking them I think until 36w. Hate hate hate them. My Doctor said "you will have a bit of a discharge". What she should have said was "you will start to discharge a chalky substance." gah! I've not had any spotting yet with them though and I'm 17w. Luckily you will probably only have to take them until around 12w I think? I have to take them longer bc of my weakened cervix.

So awesome you heard the heartbeat! :0)

I bet that was the best sound in the world! So happy for you!

Oh seeing spotting must be scary even though it was expected. That is cool you got to hear the heartbeat. I am glad all is well!

Great that you saw the heart beating away :)

Sorry about the spotting. With the suppositories you may see it throughout until you stop them. They apparently irritate the cervix from what I understand.

The suppositories always make me wonder if I should buy stock in panty liners. Yeah, they're gross, but I got to the point where I couldn't drive because going over bumps would make my PIO areas hurt so much!

I asked if I could alternate, but the doc said no, the levels wouldn't be constant. As they say, we do whatever it takes...

Late to the game as usual, but glad to hear your little peanut is growing away.

I'm so glad everything is ok. I too have a million pics ... you'll have tons by the time you're done too!

Tara, I'm so incredibly happy for you ... and I too think of all those that haven't made it yet and it breaks my heart. It is hard, but for their sake, we can just be incredibly grateful right? At least that's what I'm finally trying to be able to do.

This whole journey is so tough.

Congrats again on a wonderful ultrasound ... I hope that spotting stops SOON!!!
